LibriVox recording of Stamped Caution, by Raymond Z. Gallun. Read by Gregg Margarite (1957-2012).
When an alien spacecraft crashes in Missouri a team of army investigators is dispatched. Among the debris they find a Martian infant and decide to raise him in their lab. Is he too strange to form a relationship with humans? Maybe, but he does have cute eye-stalks. – Stamped Caution was first published in the August 1953 issue of Galaxy magazine. This is such a cute story!
I really needed after that other story I listened to (Scarlet Plague).
A cute little alien is raised by a group of humans, and taught all sorts of fun things, like physics, and how to play fetch. Now it is time to take him home. But wait? Why are those aliens capturing the people who saved one of their own?
Oct 15, 2014 - Listened to it again because I felt like listening to short stories this week I guess. Enjoyed it again. Reviewed it again because I am a creature of habit. :-)
Neat story, I got a big kick out of it. Gregg is a great reader. Enjoy!
